Janjetovic joins Western Sydney
Sydney FC goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic has signed an 18-month deal with cross-town rivals, Western Sydney Wanderers.
Janjetovic was granted personal leave by the club last month and has since been granted a release by the Sky Blues.
His last appearance for Sydney FC was on November 5, against Melbourne Victory, as a substitute.
He completed his move to the Wanderers on Tuesday, joining his teammates on the training track for the first time, as they prepare to take on the Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
The Roar are currently favourites for the December 23 clash at $2 and the visitors outsiders at $3.60 (Courtesy of CrownBet).
The 29-year-old told the club’s website he already feels right at home at his new club.
“I’ve heard a lot about the club and what a good place it is to be and I’m happy to be home,” Janjetovic said.
“I haven’t trained in a little while so I’ve got to get up to speed. There are a lot of challenges ahead but I’m looking forward to every single one of them.
“I live just around the corner from our training base so it feels like home. I’ve been welcomed by everyone. It’s been a good start.”
Janjetovic made a total of 100 appearances for the Sky Blues over five seasons.
