Fitzgerald stunner sinks Reds

Melbourne City have defeated Adelaide United 1-0 on Friday night at Coopers Stadium.

Nick Fitzgerald scored the sole goal for the match, which ended Adelaide United’s 14 game undefeated streak.

Iacopo La Rocca came in for the hosts, while Michael Zullo came in for the visitors, who came in following a 3-0 victory over Sydney FC last week.

Bruno Fornaroli almost put the visitors in front with a header in the 7th minute, however it went just left of the post.

Aaron Mooy’s free kick in the 25th minute forced Adelaide United goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic to make an acrobatic diving save.

Marcelo Carrusco fired a shot at Sorenen’s goal, however he could not produce enough bend on the ball.

Harry Novillo attempted a similar shot in the 40th minute, however it turned out to be the same outcome.
