No team managed to score more than 1 goal in week 23, with only 8 goals being scored in total across the entire league. What did that mean for fantasy scores? Well, defenders and midfielders were able to pick up a bunch of points, while strikers found good points a little harder to come by. And with only two clean sheets being kept among the ten teams, there were two goalkeepers who did better than the rest.

Speaking of goalkeepers, the two clean sheets in question were for Perth Glory and Sydney FC, so no surprise that Danny Vukovic and Ivan Necevski were the best scoring ‘keepers, tallying a respectable 6 points each. A ‘glut of goals’ could be the best way to describe week 18 of the A-League, with 16 goals hitting the back of the net at an average of over 3 a game. Add to that the fact that 4 teams managed to keep clean sheets, and what does that mean for you, the fantasy manager? Well, it opens the door to the possiblity of big scores punctuated by goals, clean sheets and assists. And with 64 points topping the list in our own fantasy league this week, that is certainly the case.
