Adelaide ease past Mariners

There was no love lost in this Valentine’s Day clash, as a dominant Adelaide United outclassed the Central Coast Mariners 2-0 at Coopers Stadium. A goal each from Marcelo Carrusca and Fabio Ferreira led the Reds to a comfortable win in front of 6,980 fans.

Determined Sydney edge Glory

Goals to Ranko Despotovic and Terry Antonis were enough for Sydney to see off the Perth Glory 2-1 on Saturday night. It was a welcome result for the Sky Blues and manager Frank Farina, bouncing back from a club-record three straight home losses at Allianz Stadium.

Five-star Heart put Phoenix to the sword

A David Williams hat-trick led Melbourne Heart to a resounding 5-0 victory over Wellington Phoenix at Westpac Stadium. It makes it three wins in a row for the Heart, who have been in inspired form since John van’t Schip took over as head coach.

Taggart penalty earns Jets the win

Newcastle re-confirmed their status as the Roar’s ‘bogey’ team, after they once again left Suncorp Stadium with all three points, following a 1-0 win on Sunday afternoon. A second-half penalty, converted by Adam Taggart, was the difference as the Jets recorded their first win in eight games.
